TOPSHOP cream trousers | TOPSHOP cropped polo | ASOS lace up platforms | LINKS OF LONDON watch

Bonjour, hello and Happy Monday... if such a thing exists. Today's outfit's pretty simple and one, again, that was based entirely around an urgent need to wear something new I'd bought. I found this little top - which I've been after for ages, promise - lurking at the back of the sale rail, reached through and grabbed it and ran-walked to the till and, well, the rest is history. Cropped top and high waisted trousers has long been one of my go-to combos; it's easy to put together and covers the old thighs, which is really all I need from an outfit.

Anyway, I feel like I'm on the verge of talking nonsense so I'm going to make like a tree and leave. I'm away down to London again on Wednesday for a shoot with ASOS and then Lovebox (wahey) so I think I'll be a sensible susan and pack now rather than at midnight the day before I leave.

I'm busy packing for London tomorrow (shock horror, I got carried away with work yesterday and didn't manage to be a sensible susan and do any then) but thought I'd share a quick snap from when I popped in to visit the amazing OBCM showroom in Paris because I'm a child and can't wait until my photo diary to upload it. They look after a whole host of dreamy brands, from Sandro, to Topshop and everything in between as well as SeaNY, who I was lucky enough to take away a couple of pieces from (you've actually maybe already seen one of them in this post here!). As soon as I saw this dress I was like, 'you, my friend, are coming home with me'. Love at first sight and all that. It's a little big but I very often have a sizeable food baby on the go so I'm more than comfortable with that.

If you asked me what my favourite colour was, green definitely wouldn't be one of the first ones that sprung to mind, and yet here I am wearing it head-to-toe. Like a big, walking bogie. I picked the top up a few weeks ago and have worn it constantly ever since - washing it in between wears, before you panic - but for some reason this is the first time it's appeared on here. I'll give you two a minute to get acquainted.

Ok. I popped it on with my trusty Dune sandals, something else that hasn't really left my body, and my trusty ASOS trews. Oh, yeah, and my Quay sunglasses. You haven't seen those on me in what... a good few hours?

Bonjour and happy Shunnnnday! No new post from me today as I'm just back from a Londontown so I'm going to spend the afternoon baking with Rob (peanut butter brownies if anyone's asking) and nursing a very baby hangover. I do have a new video though (finally, heh) so thought I'd share that with you in case you're in need of a four minute long tea break. Who am I kidding, if you're doing Sunday right then it should just be one day-long teabreak.

Ok, I go now.

7 Tips for Holiday Dressing

$

Holiday dressing is something I'm asked about a lot and, whilst most of the time I can be found wearing a sweaty bikini and an uncomfortable grimace, I do have a few tips and tricks up my sleeve that should make life in the sun a little easier. Without further ado...

1) THE TRUSTY TURBAN
Top tips for holiday dressing 1Top tips for holiday dressing

As you may already have noticed, headbands are my ultimate holiday(/life) saviour. They add instant sass to an outfit that otherwise says 'I'm sweaty and I can't be arsed with life' and craftily cover up the unavoidable post-sunscreen greasy hairline.

2) JEWELZ, JEWELZ, JEWELZ
Top tips for holiday dressing 2

I'm a fan of layering up jewellery all year round, but I think when you're abroad you can really go to town with it; tanned fingers and stacked rings are as pleasing a combo as peanut butter and jam. And while we're at it, jazz up those fingernails! Between that and the jewels, you'll have a constant sum' sum' going on without even having to give any thought to it. These stripy nails were a mere £1 from Primark and lasted me for almost a whole week in Greece.

3) COMFY SHOES
Blue Palace hotel Elounda Crete Greece review 5

A massive must. Invest in some gaddam comfortable shoes. I like to split my time between exploring and relaxing on holiday (we're talking a 20:80 split here) and have made the mistake in the past of picking up some pretty sandals without trying them on only to be left convinced by the end of the first day that I'll never walk again. Comfy. Shoes. People.

4) INVEST IN SOME SUNNIES
P7181043

I'm not talking invest as in money (be my guest, though), but invest as in time. Take a while finding a pair that makes your heart go boom because those badboys are going to be your most worn purchase the whole time you're away.

5) FIND YOUR LAZY DAYTIME GO-TO
HM summer campaign turban 7

So, the last thing you want to waste time doing on holiday is worrying about what you're going to wear each day, yes? But equally you don't want to come home filled with regret that you spend the entire week in an old sarong. The solution is simple: find an every day basic that you feel comfortable but nice in and - most importantly - can layer to make different outfits each time. For me it's dungarees; I'll throw them on over bikinis and vests during the day and often at night as well with a little crop top (although only at the beginning of the holiday because by the end, y'know... sweat).

Top tips for holiday dressing 3

6) B-B-BIKINI
H&M summer campaign 8

Aside from the previously mentioned sunglasses, your bikini's going to be up there with your most-worn purchase of the week. Shop around, find which shape suits you best and - remember - there's no such thing as too crazy a print. A prize-winning tip for you: bring a bikini in your hand luggage just in case - GAD FORBID - the airline lose your bags. My Mum told me this when I was younger and it's stayed with me ever since!

7) COVER-UP
Blue Palace hotel Elounda Crete Greece review 62

I feel bad for even mentioning this but - whispered voices - sun is never 100% guaranteed on your holiday. Gasp shock horror, I know. It's easy to get carried away packing lots of itty bitty shorts and crops, but make sure and pack - or at least fly in - something that you can throw on in the face of severe chilliness or rain. My favourite for this is a kimono; nice and easy to roll up, leaving you plenty more space for your 5000 bikinis.

And there we have it, my top holiday dressing tips! If you've got any crackers of your own then please do share.

A Gluten Free Guide to Paris

Paris and gluten free seem to go hand in hand. Or should I say, Paris and anti-gluten free. It's often brought up how awful they are at catering to GF-ers - I mean they are the bread and pastry kings so they've got a hard task on their hands - so I was a little nervous that I was going to have to live off of leaves when I was out there last month. Whilst I did find it hard a) because it's one place I couldn't find any online GF guides to and b) because there really is a limited selection available, with most of the waiters being, how do you say.. rude assholes about it when I asked, I sill did manage to find a few hidden gems. So, here they are rounded up together in one big GF guide that'll hopefully help any of you travelling out there in the future. I'm planning another shortly so I should have a few more places to add by the end of summer!

MACAROONS
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 19Gluten free restaurants in Paris 8
Now this one's more of a 'thing' than a place and, as you can see, that 'thing' is Macaroons. Luckily these little guys are completely gluten free, so - as long as these are on the menu - there's no need for your sweet tooth to suffer if you fancy stopping for coffee and a treat. They're pretty readily available throughout Paris, but if you fancy being extra decadent then I'd recommend nipping into Galerie Lafayette to enjoy one with a view of the beautiful interiors of the building like we did above (I cannot take blame if you get drunk on sugar and shop your ass off afterwards).

LA PANFOULIA
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 1Gluten free restaurants in Paris
The Marais & Canal St Martin are two good areas for GF eating as they're quite trendy and artsy and all that jazz, so are kind of cottoning on to the whole GF and vegan thing. While this bar doesn't specifically cater to GFers, they were more than happy to accommodate to it and provide us with GF sharing platters and salads. I won't lie, though, I mainly included this one because of the amazing cocktails they do.

La Panfoulia: 7 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie

LE SESAME
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 21Gluten free restaurants in Paris 4
This as the first one we came across that specifically catered to GF-ers; all morning I'd been moaning that I really wanted a chocolate fudge brownie and then we stumbled across this little cafe right on the waterfront in canal St Martin who did gluten free brownies (rich, gooey and amazing) as well as other gluten free traybakes and salads, all clearly marked on the menu. At this point I was 97% sure I'd died and gone to calorie heaven.

Le Sesame: 51 Quai de Valmy, 75010

HELMUT NEWCAKE
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 5Gluten free restaurants in Paris 6
This place is like a holy grail for GF-ers and, more importantly, full blown coeliacs, as every single thing in there is GF. They do everything from cakes, pastries and traybakes - I ordered 5 for, um, market research, and can honestly say each one was amazing - as well as sandwiches, rolls and brunch (BRUNCH - huzzah!). There's apparently one more GF bakery in Paris called Chambelland Boulangerie which I'll definitely be checking out next time.

Helmut Newcake: 36 Rue Bichat, 75010 | 28 Rue Vignon, 75009 (take-away only)

BREIZH CAFE
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 7
This picture isn't the best because I was absolutely starving by the time we got there so it was a bit of a 'snap quickly and shove in my mouth' situation, but I really couldn't recommend it more. All the galettes are made with buckwheat so are entirely gluten free and they've got around 20 different toppings on offer. If you're feeling like something a little sweeter then you can ask for the crepes to be made with buckwheat too (and that's when you go crazy and throw on Nutella, ice cream... the whole lot). I think they also did GF beer here but don't quote me on it (I was too busy stuffing my face to properly take notice of anything going on around me).

Breizh Cafe: 111 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75003

LA COUR BLEUE, BHV
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 11Gluten free restaurants in Paris 9Gluten free restaurants in Paris 10
Now this I was 90% sure was a mirage. We'd been wandering around BHV for around an hour or so when we decided a sugary pick-me-up was needed and were told to head across the street to the cafe at the men's dept for a GF treat. Here lay this amazing, quirky little spot with 5 or so foodstalls, one of which sold GF gaufres. Sometimes gluten free cakes/waffles etc can be a little, well, obviously gluten free, but you'd have no idea with this one. We got on with caramel, one with nutella and then a fruit pot to balance it all out (that's how it works, yes?).

BHV: 36 Rue de la Verrerie, 75004

LE BON MARCHE
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 12Gluten free restaurants in Paris 13
Regardless of whether or not you're GF, you NEED to check this place it because it has absolutely everything on offer... including around a hundred different types of water as you can see. They've got a little GF section with pasta, bread, cakes, all the usuals, so it's perfect if you're looking for either snacks or for ingredients to cook with back at your apartment. We also nipped up to the Rose Bakery where they had some gluten free sweet loafs (chocolate & orange, raspberry & vanilla etc) on offer, but - for once - I opted for the savoury haddock salad.

Le Bon Marche: 24 Rue de Sevres, 75007

BIO SPHERE CAFE
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 14Gluten free restaurants in Paris 15
This was another entirely GF and organic joint (again, for you ma coeliac peeps) which had a double sided - yes, double-sided, oh the rarity, menu of GF food on offer; from crepes to sandwiches to traybakes to brunch to pizza to pasta to GF beer to... Need I go on?

Bio Sphere Cafe: 47 Rue de Laborde, 75008

BAFFO
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 16Gluten free restaurants in Paris 17
Unfortunately I didn't do too well with photos of our meal as it's very, very dark - I mean, atmospheric - in here, but you can rest assured it was incredible. One of my favourite meals of the trip actually! Everything on the menu is marked as either GF or 'can be made GF by the chef' so you don't need to go through the whole rigmarole of asking what does and doesn't have gluten in it. I opted for an incredibly tasty salad because I was keeping space in my tummy box for dessert, but they do offer gluten free pasta dishes which is an absolute rarity in Paris.

Baffo: 12 Rue Pecquay, 75004

EXKI
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 18
Now these don't look like much, but that little brownie on the left is one of the best GF cakes I've ever had; crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.. oh mamma. They also offer a 'build your own salad or smoothie' option as well as lots of ready made meals that are clearly marked with allergen labels. Oh, the was we went to was right across from Galeries Lafayette and so if you need a little mid-shop-pick-me-up then it's in an ideal location! They also offer lactose free options too I should probably mention.

Exki: 82 Boulevard du Montparnasse, 59 Rue Montorgueil, 8 Rue Danielle Casanova

EAT IN/FOOD MARKETS
Gluten free restaurants in Paris 22Gluten free restaurants in Paris 23
Simple but effective. Check around to see what markets are on and when in our area and you can pick up some fresh produce to make a meal at home with that you know exactly what's gone in it. Alternatively you can just pick up a batch of goodies at the supermarket to do the same with! We did this a few nights to both save on money and make sure we had a completely GF meal on our hands.

So there we go! I really hope that helps some of you travelling there in the future and, like I say, by the end of summer I'll hopefully be able to double the length of this guide for you!

Oh hey there! As you may or may not remember, a couple of weeks ago me, Leanne and Yanin headed along to Lovebox festival with the lovely Urban Outfitters, so I thought I'd put together a little festival photo diary from our time there. Don't expect to find any festival clichés in there, like plastic cups held in the air, peace signs or photos of wristbands though. No siree, none at all..

Oh wait, yes, there we have it.. festival cliche number 1. If you fancy getting very, very drunk then take a shot every time you spot one in the following post.

P7171006
Ohh yes. A shot of the stage; I think that definitely counts as another shot.

P7181157

P7181139P7170919
And we're back at what was basically our home for the weekend. The good old cocktail van.

P7181247
Hanging with Kate and Emma (and, more importantly, Emma's fantastical boobies)

P7181258
Food from Kurobuta! Things are a little hazy from this part - ahem - but I can definitely confirm the chilli seabass was incredible. Not your usual festival meal, eh?

P7181177
And there we have it! I hope you lot like a photo diary because, as you can tell, I'm fairly fond of putting them together. And thank you so much for all your lovely feedback on my GF guide to Paris, if it helps even one gluten intolerant person from shitting themselves then I've done my job.

Hello, hello! I decided to experiment a little with my good old friend make-up last week - green eyeliner AND purple lipstick and it's not even Halloween, who do I think I am - and had a few people asking on Twitter/Instagram what products I'd used so thought I'd put together a quick post listing them all. OBVIOUSLY this is far from my standard (read: boring) daily make-up, so let me know if you'd like me to put together a more detailed post on what I use day-to-day and I'll get on it!

RAY BAN sunglasses via The Sunglasses Shop | TOPSHOP shirt dress (old, similar here, here& here) | SENSO glitter ankle boots | BANDANA so old I can't remember (try eBay!) | ZARA bag

Wahey, here are some fresh new snaps taken by my lovely Amber Rose. We shot in and around Shoreditch this time, in its secret little lanes that wouldn't be out of place in a Harry Potter film. It was 26 degrees that day (ie sweaty betty weather) so I popped on my floaty shirt dress - which also helped hide my post-cooked-breakfast baby belly - and my new round Ray Bans. If you asked me my favourite Ray Ban shape I'd always have gone for the Wayfarer but, as of late, I've really been enjoying these round badboys (as well as these ones, actually). Don't tell my Wayfarers I said that though.

On a separate (ish) note - how amazing are these Senso booties? I really struggle to find boots that are the right fit due to my abnormally narrow (read: weak) ankles, so these ones are an absolute dream come true thanks to the elasticated sock-like top to them. Oh, and they're glittery. Need I say more?

Hello (again - you just can't get rid of me today, can you?). I've just uploaded my 5 Happy Things video - basically a monthly favourites but I'm not good enough at life to do one every month - featuring all the beauty products, music, films and books that I've been a-lovin' recently, so I thought I'd share it with you over here because A) sharing's caring and b) I thought (hoped) some of you might be interested. Anyone?

Ok, bye. For real this time.

Well, hey there! Today's post is brought to you courtesy of John Wayne. Oh no, sorry, that's just me in double denim. It's always a risky look to go for - we all remember that iconic Britney and Justin denim explosion - but I love it too much not to give it a try. Trying to find boyfriend jeans that fit well is is my Everest (thank you curiously mismatched waist to thigh ratio), so I was pleasantly surprised to find these distressed badboys from Hollister fit like a glove. Huzzah! It's not somewhere I've ever shopped for jeans before but oh lordy do they have a vast selection of gems on the go. I popped it on with one of their shirts to finish off my multi-denim look, as well as my little bandana (you thought I was joking about the John Wayne thing, didn't you?) and some heels to make it clear to any passers-by that I am, in fact, a woman.

Today's post marks what I think might be my favourite set of photos with Amber yet. Although I also think I say that every time. She's just so GOOD, what can I say. Prepare to get very, very sick of these trousers because they've been practically glued to me as of late. It's so hard to find trousers that fit when you're a 5 foot giant, and these are one of the few pairs I've come across that don't need to be rolled up or altered in any way. Honestly, I swear most petite clothing is made with 5"4ers in mind when these lucky woman are actually at the TALLEST END OF THE PETITE SPECTRUM.

Wow, things got a little out of control there. I didn't realise I was so passionate about showing my ankles off. I'm off to cool down and fantasise about all the delicious cakes on bake off last night.

Well Bonjour (this could be the first time my preferred choice of greeting is entirely appropriate). Today's post is a little photo diary from my time in Paris last month. What do you mean the title kind of gave that away? Oh. Right. Basically, I've done Paris a lot, so we avoided all (well, almost all) the usual touristy stuff and just did our own thang. For this reason I thought a photo diary would make more sense than a 'what to do in Paris' post, although I have squeezed in as many tips and recommendations as I can - most of which were discovered by my Mum, who's a treasure-hunter of the highest order. Obviously one of the first things I'd recommend is hitting up the Sandro stock store for lots of reduced, beautiful goodness. Sandro's one of my favourite stores so, as you can see, I, um, I kind of abused it. You can find it in the Marais, along with lots of other stock shops.

Sandro Stock shop: 26 Rue de Sévigné.

So, after admiring the view and heading for a much-needed hot drink fix, we popped into the caravan cafe in the Marais - official name L'improbable, thank you Roisin - which, you guessed it, serves food straight from a converted caravan. It's all homemade and very tasty, and the place itself is quirky as hell, doing themed music nights with BYOB. Definitely one to check out if you're in the area. Then we moved onto the wonder that is...

P6208055P6208073

Rue Cremieux, Paris' very own little Notting Hill. It's so out of character for Paris, but I think that's what makes it so special - like a little hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Paris. Luckily Amber tipped me off beforehand so I knew to look for it, and now I pass this secret onto you.

P6208080

We then stopped off at the beautiful Le Train Bleu in Gare du Lyon station which I couldn't recommend more, it feels like you've stepped back in time into the world of Great Gatsby. We were only there for tea and cake (think beautiful silver teapots and dainty little spoons) but you can also enjoy lunch and dinner here, which I can imagine would be lavly jubbly.

Who says it's hard to make friends in France? This is actually the little guy who inspired the bulldog cafe in the Marais. Starstruck, I know.

It'd be wrong not to include a from where I stand, wouldn't it? Wearing Zara culottes, ASOS platforms and a Mulberry Lily.

P6187747P6218249P6218300PicMonkey CollageP6218323

The next day was started with a hearty meal followed by a trip to the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition, which completely blew me away. It takes a lot for an exhibition to impress me (what can I say, I'm a child and I get bored easily) but this one gripped me from start to finish. His pieces are stunning up close and personal, and there's everything in there from a selection of his corsets to the iconic creations he's designed for a whole host of famous faces and they're grouped by theme rather than chronologically, which works perfectly. I can guarantee you'll leave feeling inspired (and wishing greatly that corsets were appropriate everyday wear).

It's just finished in Paris, sadly, but will be heading to Munich in September!

P6228517P6228476P6228389

The next morning we got up bright and early and headed along to Carette in Place des Vosges for what I would quite easily, deem the best hot chocolate in Paris. It tastes like a bar of chocolate melted down into thick, syrupy goodness and comes in a pot that gives a generous three or so servings. I think this means it was meant to share but I very bravely tackled the whole thing on my own. What an inspiration, I know. You can get it with cream if you so wish but, since I wasn't wearing my nappy, I decided to give that extra rich little treat a miss. After that we just had a good wander around Place des Vosges and checked out all the little shops and galleries. There's a big park there too if you feel like relaxing in the sun with a book!

After that we just had a good wander through the Marais, admiring all the beautiful streets. And the doors, oh the doors. I really do love a big coloured door so my heart was ready to explode by the end of the day.

The sales just so happened to launch when I was out there (one of the happiest coincidences of my life) so we spent an afternoon at Galleries Lafayette getting our browse-on. If you are a shopper then this is the place to go - they have literally every brand imaginable (from high street like Topshop and Anthropologie to high-end like Chanel and Phillip Lim to homeware and stationary) and, if you're not a shopper, then I'd still recommend visiting one of the cafes - particularly the rooftop one - so that you can admire the beautiful building.

The next day we had a morning trip to the Rose Bakery in Le Bon Marche where I settled on the haddock salad after spending 10 minutes flirting with all the cakes before learning that they all had gluten in. Probably for the best (what? No, I'm not crying).

We then headed over to Colette which is one of my favourite stores in Paris as well as THE best place for people spotting (my Mum and brother once saw Karl Lagerfeld in there which must be the people-spotting equivalent of catching the snitch). It's filled to the brim with cool and quirky buys, the most amazing books and records plus a very snazzy designer clothing display. There's always a photography or art exhibition on upstairs which is also worth a browse. Think Urban Outfitters but, um, a lot more expensive. Also, somewhere whose toilet signs acknowledge that sometimes adults wet their pants get a thumbs up from me.

One of my top tips when visiting Paris is free and very, very satisfying: look up. Simples! As you'll all know, Paris is home to some of the world's most beautiful architecture, so one of the best things to do is just get lost in the city and take in all the beautiful sights.

And there we have it, time to enjoy one last Parisian sunset before heading home. I hope you enjoyed it, and here's hoping it'll come in handy to any of you heading out to Gaye Paree in the future!

Me and Rob are looking to go to Malta in September (waheyyy), so if any one has any hotel - or even restaurant or things to do - recommendations they'd be mucho appreciated!

Behold, my favourite purchase in a long time. I'm generally a really lazy dresser, especially in summer, but I'm not the biggest fan of dresses so when I spotted this on the ASOS website it was a done deal (try and not lol at the fact it's cropped length on the model). I also picked up this snazzy little make-up bag as well after realising my current one looked like it had been in a flight with a dog and lost. All in all, two very successful buys!

And with that short but sweet bit of text I shall have to bid you adieu because I'm hungry and need both of my hands free for my bag of Kettle chips.

ZARA open back dress (cheeky sale find, similar here and here) | Round Ray Bans | STAN SMITHS in rose gold

Here we have my latest set of photos taken by the babin' Amber. As you've probably noticed, she's a little genius when it comes to location spotting, but I think this has to be her best find yet. Riiiight in the heart of Shoreditch, amongst all the hustle and bustle of London, with a red double decker thrown in for good measure. What lark!

I'm spending the day making beetroot brownies (not convinced. Will report back) before heading out for a day in the sun with my little bruv bruv before he goes back to Brighton, so I better go and shower because society says it's not ok to go out in your jammies. One day.

'Oh no!', I hear you cry, 'not those trousers again!'. Well YES, yes those trousers again. It's a common misconception that bloggers roll out the house in an entirely new outfit every day when, in actual fact, I wear the same old shit all the time. As well as looking to the left all the time, apparently, but that's a whole other issue.

Well hey there! Happy Sunday. Following on from my last post about outfit recycling, I'm at it again; this time with a home-made suit. This time last year I pretty much lived in shorts suits - I was just short of sleeping in one - but then, well, then I overdid it and felt a bit like, 'if I see ONE more short suit...'. Fast forward 12 months and I'm back in love (so fickle) but really struggled to find one I liked. It was only when I spotted these two tomato red items sticking out from the sea of black that is my wardrobe that I thought, 'Oh hello. I think we're on to something here'. You may remember the jacket from this post at the beginning of the year, and the shorts from this more recent post. The shirt is a new purchase that sat in my saved items on ASOS for a few days before I caved. I do love me a printed shirt.

I think me and Rob are FINALLY off to see Trainwreck this afternoon, so I'm currently baking some healthy-ish cereal bars to sneak in my bag. CARPE DIEM, BABY. Speaking of which, I forgot to update you all on the beetroot brownies I made last week - Verdict: Good. Suspiciously good, to the point where the mix actually tasted like real brownie mix. I don't know who to trust any more.
